Review: Revlon Colourburst Lip Butters

I first heard about the revlon colourburst lip butters last year and my first thought was, it will be too sheer or colour and wont stay on long as it sounds more like a balm than a lipstick! How wrong was I? After purchasing one this week in my search for the perfect red lipstick for my skin colour I came across the colour wild watermelon and it does exactly what it says, it moisturises your lips to give them that smooth, baby soft texture with a gorgeous shine that is hard to get in a lipstick without shimmer!

This lipstick can be built up from sheer coverage to full impact lips, if worn over a base of foundation and lip liner the lipstick will last for hours even if you have been eating or drinking, the only fault is the shine will disappear over time if you are eating or drinking but a quick top up with the lipstick or a gloss will bring them back to look like its freshly applied.

It comes in 20 shades from baby punks, corals, reds, plums etc a colour for everyone in this collection.  The lipstick itself is called a butter rather than a lipstick as it has mango, shea and coconut butter as the base for the lipstick and with these ingredients together your lips are constantly hydrated and instantly feel plump with moisture.

It is rare than you find a lipstick that you can build up from sheer to full coverage and also apply it without a mirror straight from the bullet! It doesn't stain and there will be no drying of the lips throughout the day and no scrubbing with make-up remover or wipes at the end of the day to get it off your lips, a baby wipe will take this off with ease, so imagine how easy it is to remove with make-up remover!

I shall be purchasing more of these lip butters as they are a great lipstick for anyone to have either in their professional make-up kit or your personal make-up bag or handbag.

Review: Bioderma Sebium & Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution

Sensibio H2O Micelle Solution (Sensitive Skin)

Sebium H2O Micelle Solution (Combination & Oily Skin)

The first time I heard about this product was on youtube by the Pixiwoo Sisters (Sam & Nic Chapman) and I loved the fact that it looked liked water and all you had to use was a cotton pad with this and end up cleaning your whole face (including sensitive eyes) without using soap or water to rinse off the product!

The Bioderma range is from France and was mainly sold in pharmacy's making it difficult for anyone in the UK to purchase it unless you went a trip to France, however they have now ventured over foreign seas and you can now buy the H20 waters and many other bioderma products in the UK, the website I found that is the cheapest and most reliable is www.escentual.com .  When I placed my order for Bioderma products the website had an offer on which was if you bought more than £25 worth of Bioderma products you received 2 x 20ml H2O Micelle Solutions (1 x Sensibio & 1 x Sebium).  This is a great way to try out new products and test them to see if they are compatible with your skin and in these small sizes are handy to take away for one or two nights holiday and saves you room in your make-up bag!  Make sure you check out www.escentual.com as they not only sell Bioderma but they sell Vichy, Avene, Caudalie & La Roche Posay along with many other brands and are the first website that I have came across to stock alot of french pharmacy brands with great offers and great prices.

The packaging for these are strong plastic bottles that will hold their own in a make-up bag, suitcase etc which is excellent for travelling with, another little touch that I liked was that the caps had a peel off plastic strip like milk cartons have which ensures you know when you get your product that it hasn't been tampered with.  The packaging is simple but very effective with the see through bottle to show you the clear water like solution inside along with coloured tops for reference of sensitive skin (Clear Liquid) and combination & oily skin (Blue Clear Liquid).  The back of the bottle describes how the products works and how to use it effectively along with the list of ingredients it includes.

I have road tested both formulations of the H2O Micelle Solutions and both are equally are great, the Sensibio is great for dry & sensitive skin types that may have red, dry, flaky skin, this makes the skin feel cool, clean and refreshed and does not create the tightness sometimes experienced with other cleansers.  Sebium gives you the same effect and doesn't leave the tightness of skin either, but what I liked about this formulation was you could use it on your skin whether it was combination, oily or sensitive as I have all three of those complaints on my face and the fact it left it clean with no residue or tightness on the skin is a miracle as no other product I have came across has been able to cater for all three. I have bought the 250ml and have been using it for a week now and there is still over 3/4's of a bottle left so it is very cost efficient.

This product is not new to the world but it is relatively new to the UK and in doing so will change the skincare industry for the better as not only does it feel great, it also tricks your mind into thinking you are cleaning your skin with just water, the most pure cleanser you can have!

The bottles of Sensibio & Sebium H2O Micelle Solution can be bought in a few sizes: 100ml, 250ml & 500ml.

I guarantee once you start using this product your skin will change for the better!
