This Review Is About The Following Product:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation
I first came across double wear a few years back and immediately fell in love with it, at that time my skin was quite oily and suffered from moderate acne, so this was perfect as it covered any spots, scars or imperfections, which to be honest is what any person wants when they have big red marks or lumps on your face that are like a beacon attracting people to look and stare at your face.
After years of using double wear and as I have got older my skin has changed to dry/combination and to having mild acne with only having hormonal breakouts, I now only use it on occasions that I want my skin to look flawless and last all day such as a wedding or special occasion.
Double wear is great when you want full coverage and for it to last all day and or if you have acne prone skin to cover all lumps, bumps, marks and imperfections, however it has it's down side as it can feel quite heavy on the skin and dry the skin out and cause acne or make your acne worse depending on how skin reacts to it, if you use it only on occasion's I doubt that it will affect your skin much.
Most foundation's have an SPF these days and double wear is no different as it has an SPF of 10, this is good if your moisturiser hasn't got an SPF or if you do not use sun protection everyday as im sure you know SPF help's protect you from getting skin cancer as a result of damage from the sun. So as a result this is a good factor and takes the fuss out of applying one mroe product to you skin in your daily routine.
The texture of the foundation is luck of the draw, I have had bottles of double wear that it is thin and runs quickly out of the bottle and I have had some that are thick don't just run out of the bottle as quickly.
When applying to the skin I would recommend that you use a foundation brush to get a flawless look. If you want an Airbrush HD look I recommend that you purchase a stippling brush from the real techniques range designed by Samantha Chapman from the Pixiwoo Sister's (Make-Up Artist's, Blogger's & You Tube Make-Up Guru's), Blog coming soon on the whole range. If using a regular foundation brush use little and start from the centre and works outwards, remember it is always easier to build coverage than to take it off and start over again. If you are using the stippling brush dab the brush into the foundation on the back of your hand and buff in circular motions from the centre of the skin outwards which will leave you with great coverage and an HD airbrush finish and ultimately using less as the stippling brush makes it easier to spread across the skin.
The packaging of double wear is a glass bottle which seems very sturdy and heavy to the feel. This a nice way to package foundation however when getting to the end of the bottle it is very hard to get the product out, therefore wasting the rest of the foundation by throwing it out! All of Estee Lauder's products are packaged in a navy cardboard box with gold writing on it and is very elegant looking.

Have you ever tried the Jane Iredale BB cream? It is similar to double wear but is "good" for the skin as its mineral. Looking to get to trying it properly for myself soon as it sounds fab!
